L'informatica ha una storia recente e sembra troppo giovane per essere riportata in un museo. Ma un museo, che significa "luogo sacro alle Muse", non è solo fatto per andare indietro nel tempo: è anche fatto per rimanere vicino, per far conoscere agli altri un recente passato o addirittura un presente, come un ponte verso il futuro.

Il computer è nato nel 1940, ma l'idea dell'informatica nasce nei secoli passati con i primi tentativi di utilizzare strumenti per la numerazione e il calcolo di cose, spazi, tempo e per la diffusione dell'informazione scritta.

E' affascinante la possibilità di raccogliere in un museo virtuale parti di hardware, software e userware, cioè varie altre cose che riguardano l'utente e le persone che utilizzano il computer: un museo che usa la propria stessa tecnologia per presentarsi dando inizio all'archeologia informatica.

Computer Science seems too young to be reported in a museum. A museum, described in the old meaning from Greek history (more than 2000 years ago) as: "a sacred place for the Muse". We don't have to restrict ourselves to the distant past: it is also approriate to study recent history, to show things to people to build a bridge to the future.

The computer was born in 1940, but the ideas of computer science evolved centuries ago with the first attempts of use of tools to count things, spaces, time and produce automatically information in writing.

What is fascinating is the possibility to collect in a virtual museum pieces of hardware, software and userware, that is many other things related to the Information Technology user and his point of view, creating a museum that uses its own technology to present its history, starting the era of archeological ICT.
